CleanUp Tenterden Day 2

It is with great pleasure that we are able to announce our second 'CleanUp Tenterden Day' on Sunday April 15th 2012. Same deal as last time, we'll be there on the lower Rec field (aka the football field) outside the pavilion at 10 am with our gazebo and signup forms, tabards and sacks and gloves and litterpickers at the ready. The areas we will cover will be largely the same as last time, but hopefully we'll get a bigger turnout this year so we can cover even more ground! Sacks, pickers, and tabards provided by Ashford Borough Council/Clean Kent and Keep Britain Tidy, we shall have warming tea and coffee, and there'll be badges and stickers for the kids too! Come one, come all!

An Axe To Grind

Today at Rolvenden Market Sis encountered a nice chap from Mid Kent Sharpening - yes, you guessed it folks, he sharpens things. Knives, tools, basically anything with a blade. While you wait. Since we here at T3 prefer to repair or fix things before we chuck them out, then a service like his is right up our alley. Here is the link to the website: http://www.midkentsharpening.co.uk/index.htm Click on it and get those tools sharpened for spring!

However, this is not the whole story, for he is also involved with a charitable cause: Tools with a Mission sends unwanted tools to Third World countries like Nigeria, India and Uganda to help people learn skills to be able to support themselves. Here's the website: twam.co.uk.

Here is a pdf document outlining the tools they can use. Don't chuck away those old tools - give'm to TWAM.  http://www.twam.co.uk/graphics/home/Tools%20wanted%20list%202011.pdf

Spring Fair

Hello everyone,

Well, T3's Spring fair is only a few weeks away and we are still looking for people interested in having a stall. At the Fair we will be having:

  • Plant and Seed Swap
  • Book Swap
  • Cream teas
  • Displays of current and future T3 projects
  • Home made cakes
  • Jams & Chutneys
  • Tenterden Freegle
  • Bug Hotel Making
  • Teas and coffees
  • Green Tombola

We are looking for as eclectic a group of vendors as we can muster, with one proviso: You have to be local, and if your products are locally made/handmade/ethically produced/upcycled/recycled, so much the better - you get the idea. Any type of stuff is welcome - food, art, fashion, music, gardening, household items, wine/beer etc. If you would like to be part of Tenterden's most interesting fair, give us a call or reply to this email. Your pitch will only cost you £10. Come on down!
